What is Ux4 ?

Ux4 is a free website meant to bring and help "underground" music on the internet. By "underground" it means the music you don't usually hear on commercial radios or TVs, or emerging new music.

How does Ux4 relate to uuuu.org ?

uuuu.org was the former place of all the current sections of Ux4. It has been made popular by the Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers sections. But since the audience and these bands didn't correspond anymore to what I wanted to do, I decided to change that. Also it was getting too big for just one active person.

Why don't you talk about <this artist> ?

There are 3 options :

• I don't know <this artist>, so I'd probably like to know more (before).
• I know <this artist> but I don't like it. You can run your own website for that.
• I know <this artist> and I like it, but never considered adding anything about it. Probably because the informations about <this artist> are available elsewhere.

Why don't you talk about <this kind of music> ?

There are 2 options :

• I don't know <this kind of music>, so I'd probably like to know more (before).
• I don't like music that can be put in a category. And lots of categories are very formulatic. Once the formula has been over-used, there's no need for more

How do you make Ux4 ?

Basically with very few. I use Homesite and SciTE for editing the HTML/PHP code and Fireworks for the image editing/creation. I'm trying to make the place as compliant as possible with existing, open and new technologies like XHTML, PNG, MP3 and Flash. I also try to avoid as much as possible proprietary and closed formats/standards (MP3 and Flash are among them but in an acceptable way).
